Ashley Named Preseason All-American by Fastpitch News

LIBERAL, Kan. – Seward County sophomore Monique Ashley was named to the 2018 FastPitch News Preseason All-American Team, the publication announced on Wednesday.
Ashley had a stellar freshman season, being named the 2017 Jayhawk Freshman of the Year and was a 1st Team All-Conference selection. She finished her 2017 campaign with a 27-6 record, 2.42 ERA and 217 strikeouts in 202 1/3 innings pitched. Her 27 wins and 217 strikesout led the Jayhawk conference, while her 2.42 ERA ranked fourth.
Seward will begin their 2018 season on February 2, traveling to Fort Worth, Texas to compete in the Cowtown Classic.
