Allen Has Interim Tag Lifted

Brock Kappelmann - January 9, 2018 1:14 pm

The interim tag was lifted in front of the title of Seward County Director of Athletics Roy Allen at the monthly Board of Trustees meeting Monday.

Allen takes over as Director of Athletics after a nine month stint as the interim for the Saints. He is in his 10th year at Seward County after serving for nine years as the Saints Sports Information Director and six as the Assistant Athletic Director to Saints Hall of Famer Galen McSpadden.

The Saints have seen much success so far in 2017-2018, registering a 55-8 record between their three active sports, good for an .873 winning percentage which is 150 points higher than any other team in the Jayhawk Conference to this point. Seward’s seven programs have also seen great success off the courts and fields where Saints student-athletes and coaches have already provided 1,300 hours of community service to Southwest Kansas and the Panhandle in just five months this year.

“It is an honor for me to be in this position at such a great institution and an incredibly successful Athletic Department” Allen said. “I appreciate the confidence that the Board of Trustees and our Executive Team has for me and I will do everything in my power to continue the amazing tradition of Saints Athletics into the future. We have a great team put together here in our department with leaders everywhere you look. I am confident that with this group and a laser focus and effort from all, we will continue to take our programs to new heights each and every day” he continued.
