Liberal’s Hyde Plays for Team USA Midwest

A Liberal baseball player earned the right to play USA baseball this summer.  Liberal’s Braxton Hyde, who will be a sophomore at LHS this year, competed for Team USA Midwest in Cary, North Carolina this weekend.  Hyde tried out for the team in Norman in mid July.  He made the team and went to North Carolina last week to compete with Team USA Midwest.  Team USA Midwest went 2-2.  Hyde picked up the win in the final game pitching two innings allowing one hit and striking out two.  They lost 12-2 to Mountain West but Hyde was 1-1 with a double, RBI, and a run scored.  They lost 13-2 to Southern California.  They beat South Texas 11-3.  Hyde is a three sport athlete at LHS in football, basketball, and baseball.
