Tyrone Looks to Build Off Break Through Season

Brock Kappelmann - August 9, 2017 3:38 pm

It will be difficult to match 2016 in Tyrone. The Bobcats went 11-1 and were an eyelash away

from playing for the Class C state championship. But they lose seven seniors and four 8 man

all stars from last year.

However, 15th year head coach Josh Bell has plenty of reason for optimism. He has 22 out for

football and a strong junior class ready for their chance at starting roles. Tyrone has

good size in that group. And he is high on his three member senior class including QB/LB/CB

Brian Holley, FB/LB Jonathan Coarales, and WR/S Adrian Lopez. Other key Cats include Jr. C/DE

Abraham Valdez, JR. G/NG Brandon White, Jr. G/DE Addison Heitschmidt, Jr. OL/LB Noah Rodriguez,

Jr. TE/LB alex Landeverde, Jr. TB/CB Antonio Pacheco, and So. RB/DE Mathew Clancy.

The Bobcats won one game in 13, two in 14, and four in 15 before breaking through last season.

The Bobcats think they can win the district again this year if they can stay healthy. One thing

is for sure, the confidence in and out of the program is higher than it has been in decades. The

Bobcats will be featured during Sportsguys Monday morning between 7:37 and 9 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
