John Edward Olney, 67, died Sunday, July 23, 2017 at the Northwest Texas Healthcare Systems Hospital in Amarillo, TX.

He was born in Guymon, OK on March 6, 1950, the son of Edward Neal and Doris M. (Cain) Olney.

He attended school in Guymon and Tyrone, OK . John served in the United Starts Army from 1968 to 1971.

He enjoyed woodworking, sewing, cooking and researching the history of the Civil War.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Modern Woodsmen and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

John worked for Liberal Gasket for many years as a machinist.

Survivors: 1 son: Nathan Olney Gloucester, MA.

Zack Olney and wife Pamela Glen Burnie, MD
Paul Olney and wife Candice Aiken, SC
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place and private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
