Bee Jays Handle Haysville in Game 1

Liberal put together another complete game in a 10-3 win over the Haysville Aviators Tuesday night at Brent Gould Field.  With a strong win blowing out, Liberal played errorless baseball and had 10 runs on 15 hits.

Cole Jenkins (2-0)  pitched seven strong innings for the win.  He struck out eight and didn’t walk anyone.  Thomas Garland pitched two innings allowing one run.

Liberal scored three in the first to begin their road trip.  Marcus Shoemaker opened the inning with a single before Garrett Scott singled to center and the center fielder committed an error allowing a run to score.  Trent Maloney skied a double off the left field wall to score a run and Jaron Robinson singled home a run with a line drive to right.  The Aviators scored a run with two hits in the third to make it 3-1.  The Bee Jays scored three in the fourth on four hits.  With one out, Colton Onstott and Kyle Schmidt singled before Marcus Shoemaker doubled home a run and Zac Cook singled home two runs for a 6-1 lead.  The Aviators plated a run on two hits in the sixth to make it 6-2.  Gage Teer blasted a towering three run homer to left in the seventh to lead 9-2.  Maloney doubled home another run in the eighth for a 10th run.

Liberal is 16-4 and Haysville is 5-15 with a 13th straight loss.  The two teams play a double header at 5 with the Dugout Show at 4:45 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.  The Days Inn is the buyout sponsor for game one and will give away nine baseballs autographed by the BJ’s and other prizes.  Rapid Fit is the buyout for game two and will give away prizes.
