Lady Saints Tame T-Birds in Second Half

The Seward Lady Saints are another step closer to a goal. The ‘Gals in Green’ dominated the second half on the way to a 72-54 win over Cloud Tuesday afternoon in Hartman Arena in Park City. SCCC advances to the Region 6 championship to play Hutchinson Wednesday night at 5.

Seward led 12-10 after a quarter but Cloud led 27-21 and led 33-29 at halftime. The Lady Saints outscored the Lady T-Birds 24-6 in the third quarter. They used a 16-0 run in the third.

Joanna Grymek led Seward with 23 points and 14 rebounds. Mollie Mounsey had 22 points and seven rebounds. Neidy Ocuane had 11. Seward out rebounded Cloud 53-40. Seward held Cloud’s leading scorer  Kaley Broeckelman scoreless. Cloud shot 32 percent from the field and 3-24 from three. The Lady Saints shot 44 percent.

Seward plays in their second consecutive Region 6 title game Wednesday at 5 on 107.5 and kscbnews.net.
