Carroll Roughs Up Redskins

In a physical game with very few whistles, the Wichita “City League’s”  Bishop Carroll Eagles led throughout.  The Eagles were able to play their bruising style and beat Liberal 52-45 Thursday night in the Big House.

Carroll led 13-8 after one and 24-18 at the half.  LHS had the ball down two and turned it over leading to a Carroll lay up to make it 33-29 BC after three. The Eagles led 41-33 with 5:30 to play and 45-38 with a minute to go before LHS rallied.  Markalyn Eatmon made two of three free throws to make it 47-45 Carroll with about 30 seconds left.  But Carroll quickly scored an “and 1” to lead 50-45.

Liberal struggled offensively shooting 38 percent.  Liberal only shot under 40 percent three times this year.  All three times came in losses to Garden City, Salina South, and Bishop Carroll.  The Redskins were 3-6 at the foul line and 6-15 from three point range.

11-10 Bishop Carroll faces Kapaun in the sub state final at Kapaun Saturday night.  Liberal finishes 18-3.  Liberal loses 10 seniors from this team.
