LHS Spikers Take Two of Three at Home

Liberal’s volleyball team opened their home season winning two of three in the Big House Tuesday afternoon and evening. Liberal opened with an afternoon loss to Colby 19-25 and 23-25. The Redskins topped Guymon in the evening session 25-18 and 25-23 and topped Ulysses 25-22 and 27-25. Jada Mickens had 21 kills as Abbey Hebbert added 15 kills and had five blocks in the Ulysses match. Samantha Terrazas and Stephanie Garcia added 10 kills a piece. Jessica Cisneros passed at a 2.3 average. Liberal is 4-9 and hosts their own tournament Saturday but first travels to Dodge City Thursday. Saturday Liberal hosts Hugoton, Southwestern Heights, Colby, Dodge City, Pratt, Scott City, Ulysses, Elkhart, Meade, Wichita Southeast, and Borger.
