Skin Make Quick Work of Guymon

After Guymon built a 3-1 lead on Liberal Friday evening in Guymon, it was time to talk. Head coach Eric Olmstead had a spirited conversation with his team after a sluggish start. The message was well received as the Redskins roared back to beat the Tigers 17-3.

The Skins scored seven in the second and nine in the third. Liberal scored 17 runs on 11 hits while a Guymon committed five errors.

Tim Fitzgerald was 2-3 with a double, an RBI, and two runs. Cristian Erives was 2-3 with a double and two RBI’s. Collin Ware was 2-4. Stevie Lira pitched the first two innings and Tim Fitzgerald and Kaden Long pitched scoreless innings.

The LHS JV won 13-0 in Guymon while the freshmen beat Perryton 9-0 and 11-3.

Liberal is 4-4 in varsity baseball and hosts Scott City Tuesday at 4.
