NJCAA Honors Six Seward Teams and Five Individuals

The NJCAA released their academic award winners for the 2012-2013 school
year Tuesday and six different Seward County teams found their way onto
the list while five individuals were given top academic honors from the
commissioning body.

Six of the seven Seward County teams earned All-Academic Team awards led
by the Lady Saints volleyball team who notched a 3.31 team GPA this
year. Nipping on their heels were the Lady Saints basketball and tennis
teams who tied with 3.27 team GPA’s in 2012-2013. Posting a 3.16 team
GPA was the Lady Saints softball team while the Saints baseball team
earned a 3.06 cumulative mark and the Saints men’s tennis team rounded
out the pack with a 3.01 mark.

Saints baseball player Johnny Griffith earned the top academic honor in
the department, picking up a Superior Academic Achievement award with a
3.88 GPA throughout his Seward County career. Next up was Lady Saints
volleyballer Jasmine Bryant who earned Exemplary Academic Achievement
honors with a 3.76 GPA. Volleyball player Bailey McFerren and baseball
player Garret Smith each posted a 3.68 GPA to also earn Exemplary
Academic Achievement honors and softball player Kennisha Montgomery
finished with a 3.62 GPA to earn the same award.
