Saints Suffer Technical Difficulties

One night after a thrilling buzzer beating win over Odessa, Seward trailed all the way in a shocking 71-65 loss to a first year program. Goodland’s Northwest Tech came to the Green House and beat the Saints 71-65.

Seward trailed 34-26 at halftime. Seward cut the Maverick lead to 51-50 before Markees Walker hit two straight three pointers to lead 57-50.

Seward’s 6’10" Edson Avila was benched due to showing up late to the team’s 12:30 p.m. shootaround Saturday afternoon. Guard Briston White did not play due to injury.

Malcolm Hill Bey scored a career high 23 points.

Northwest Tech in their first season clearly registered their biggest win in their program’s one month history. Seward falls to 6-4. The Saints host Randy Rutherford’s Murray State Friday and Beacon Prep. Saturday at 8 p.m. both nights for the Pizza Hut Classic on B107.5 and kscbnews.net.
