Turpin’s Jake Jimenez Wins Billy’s 10 Best Scholarship

KSCB News - September 21, 2012 7:28 am

Turpin’s Jake Jimenez is the third winner of the Billy’s 10 Best Scholarship. His school of choice will receive a 350 dollar scholarship from Billy’s and 102.7 to the college of his choice. Jimenez plays fullback and linebacker for the Cardinals and showed last week against Shamrock that he will play even when he is hurt. Jimenez is in the student council, band, and FCA at Turpin. He joins Southwestern Heights’ Ben Johnsrund and Satanta’s Mathew Leggett as winners of the scholarship and they become eligible for an overall scholarship award in November.

Billy’s and KSCB will combine to give out 350 dollar scholarships to the 11 schools participating in the show for Billy’s 10 Best. Liberal is part of the Billy’s 10 Best scholarship but has their own weekly Rowdy Crowd Show at 5:30 Thursday evening’s on Talkradio 1270 rather than the OTS Show. Hugoton’s Colten Lissolo won the overall Billy’s 10 Best scholarship in 2011. He is playing football at Hutchinson.

This year’s winners will be announced during the next week’s show. Winners will be seniors in the football programs of the schools. Brock Kappelmann hosts the show with Jack Jacob. They will talk with area coaches and football players for 10 weeks this season. Jacob will provide play-by-play for a third straight year for the Game of the Week on Friday nights on 102.7.
