Momentum Transfers Tyrone’s Way

KSCB News - August 9, 2012 1:04 pm

Tyrone already returns seven starters back from the 2011 football team which went 5-5. But with Hooker transfer Payson Slater and basketball star Austin Olivas in the fold too, it’s easy to see why these are ambitious days in Tyrone. Plus they have 24 out for football at the Class C school.

The Bobcats lose Travis Shield who was their best play maker during a four year period. But they have eight seniors hungry to make the playoffs after just missing the past two years going 5-5 last year and 6-4 two years ago.

Key seniors include te/de Payson Slater, qb/db Cole Wall; te/lb Chantz Reese; rb/db Fernando Medrano; c/lb Uriel Arona; wr/db Austin Olivas; and lineman Dalton Robinson. Junior fb/de Ethan Reece, junior lineman Conrad Brockett, and sophomore tb/db Gage Schoolcraft are key Bobcats.

Josh Bell is in his 11th season as head coach.
