The One Goal Agony Continues for LHS Girls

KSCB News - April 13, 2012 7:17 am

For the fourth time this season, the Liberal High School girls soccer team loses by one goal. Thursday evening the Great Bend Panthers handed LHS a 1-0 loss at Great Bend Memorial Stadium. Great Bend beat LHS 3-2 in Wichita last month. Add a 2-1 overtime loss at Hays and a 1-0 loss to Campus in Wichita and Liberal has lost some heartbreakers. That doesn’t even count the 0-0 tie with Great Bend in the rain at Redskin Field April 3.

LHS had six shots on goal. Goalie Magali Vazquez helped keep this game close with five saves and yet another save on a penalty kick. She has actually save six out of seven PK’s thsi season.

The Redskins are 1-6-1 and 0-2-1 in the WAC. They play at Dodge City Monday. Great Bend is 2-3-1.
