More Heartache in Hays

KSCB News - April 5, 2012 9:00 pm

After two straight one goal losses and a tie in the rain, the Liberal girls soccer team hoped their fortunes would change Thursday in Hays. But that wasn’t the case as Hays continued Liberal’s sorrows with a 2-1 win over the Redskins in overtime.

Joanna Campos scored Liberal’s goal and Abigail Alvarado dished the assist. Magali Vazquez had a clutch penalty kick save during overtime which prolonged the game.

Liberal is 1-4-1 and 0-1-1 in the WAC while the Indians are 4-0.

LHS hosts Garden City Tuesday at Redskin Field.
