Seward beat Kansas City 83-67 Saturday in the quarterfinals of the Region 6 Tournament at Koch Arena in Wichita. Seward plays Cowley Sunday at 5 p.m. in the semifinals. The other semifinal pits Hutchinson against Coffeyville at 7 p.m. Seward jumped out to a 21-11 leading forcing Blue Devil turnovers. Kansas City turned the ball over 25 times while the Saints had just nine turnovers. KCK dominated the boards in the first half out rebounding Seward 30-10 in the first half but Seward out rebounded KCK 25-21 in the second half. Jeremy Jones scored 26 points with five rebounds and four assists. Daveon Boardingham had 17 points and Marquez Patteson added 15. Rafriel Guthrie added 13 points, six assists, and five steals. Seward is 26-6. Today’s game airs at 4:45 on B107.5 and kscbnews.net.
