Southwest Symphony Society to present “Mozart and Munchies” on April 29

The Southwest Symphony Society orchestra will present its Spring Concert “Mozart and Munchies” at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at the Seward County Community College/Area Technical School Showcase Theater under the direction of Grant Mathews. The talented group of local musicians will play Mozart selections. Refreshments will be served and admission is a free-will donation.

The concert will also feature the SCCC/ATS Choir, under the direction of Magda Silva. “We’re excited about this collaboration,” said Mathews. In addition to the Mozart “Requiem,” the choir will also sing some selections from their recent concerts.

The concert will include Mozart’s “Requiem,” “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik,” “The Magic Flute” and Symphony No. 12 and Symphony No. 29.

Local musicians performing during the concert include: Chris Seeman, Bethany Adams, Blinda Massa, Nancy Allen, Ananda Coleman, Rachel Kurt, Amanda Gimson, violins; Josephine Stockwell and Alexandra Stockwell, viola; Amira Coleman and Annette Lemmert-Larrabee; cello; Zeb Tiedeman, bass; Matt Hall, flute; Mitzi Randall, oboe; Lydia Augustine, bassoon; Erika Clausing, trumpet; Lance Burnett, French horn; Daniel Valles, trombone; Charla Lewis and Lydia Augustine, percussion.
