Dodge City Storms Past Bee Jays

Dodge City brought the storm to the Liberal Bee Jays Thursday night at Cavalier Field in Dodge City.  Dodge City built a 9-2 lead and got through the top of the fifth before a thunderstorm canceled the rest of the game.  The Bee Jays finish their road trip 3-2.

The A’s scored two in the first.  Cooper Kardokus hit an opposite field home run to left in the third to make it 2-1.  Dodge scored four in the third to lead 6-1.  Liberal made it 6-2 in the fourth when Cal Anthony doubled and scored on a Josiah Rojas single.  The A’s scored three in the fourth for the 9-2 lead.

Dodge out-hit Liberal 7-3.  DC had two errors.   B.J. pitching walked six in four innings.

The A’s are 10-11-1 overall and 8-7 in the Rocky Mountain.  Liberal is 13-7 overall and 11-6 in the Rocky Mountain.  The two teams play in the 4th of July Game Saturday night at 7pm at Brent Gould Field.  Pregame at 6:45 on 1270 and 92.3 FM.  The game is a non-league game.  Community Bank, the City of Liberal, and SCCC are the buyout sponsors.  The fireworks show will follow the game.
