The Liberal Fire Department would like to provide fireworks safety tips to all during the upcoming holiday:

1. Always have a sober adult in charge and never give fireworks to you children, even sparklers, as they can cause severe burns.

2. Only buy Legal consumer fireworks from a licensed store, stand, or tent. They typically have brightly colored labels with the manufacturer’s name, directions, and warnings. If you buy your fireworks in Liberal, they should be legal to shoot in Liberal.

3. Read and follow directions on the labels.
