Hooker, Okla. — In response to the ongoing threat of wildfires across the region, Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TCEC) has donated $36,000 to local fire departments and emergency response agencies serving its membership area. The contribution underscores the cooperative’s commitment to supporting those on the front lines who work tirelessly to protect lives, property, and communities.
Each of the 36 emergency response agencies serving the TCEC service area and surrounding areas received a $1,000 donation. These funds are intended to help ensure first responders have the equipment, resources, and support needed to respond effectively when disaster strikes.
The donation reflects Concern for Community, one of TCEC’s seven cooperative principles that guide electric cooperatives across the nation. By investing in local emergency services, TCEC continues to demonstrate its commitment not only to providing reliable electricity but also to strengthening the communities it serves.
“Investing in those who protect and serve is one of the best investments we can make,” CEO Zac Perkins added. “Honoring first responders for the invaluable service they provide is a small but meaningful way to give back.”
As wildfires and other emergencies continue to pose challenges, TCEC remains committed to standing alongside local agencies and providing ongoing support where it is needed most.
