The #2 Butler Lady Grizzlies took care of business in the second half of an 86-65 win over the Seward Lady Saints Saturday afternoon in the Power Plant in El Dorado. This was a 41-37 game at the half but the Lady Grizzlies outscored the Lady Saints 45-28 in the second half.
Seward took a 12-10 lead at the media time out. SCCC led 15-12. Butler led 20-17 after one quarter. Butler led 37-24. Seward rallied to cut the lead to 39-37. It was 41-37 BCC at the half. Butler jumped out to a 52-37 lead and led 54-41 with 4:21 remaining. Butler outscored SCCC 28-10 in the third quarter and led 69-47 after three.
Kimora Fagan was Black Hills Energy Player of the Game with 21 points. Avery Marchino scored 14.
Butler shot 51 percent from the field while making 7-19 from three and 13-21 from the foul line. Seward shot 40 percent making 5-19 from three and 14-18 from the foul line. Butler out rebounded Seward 36-30.
Butler wins their 15th consecutive game improving to 24-1 overall and 18-1 in the KJCCC. Seward falls to 17-9 overall and 12-8 in the KJCCC. Seward hosts Independence Wednesday in the Green House at 6pm with Saints Shoot-around at 5:45 on 1270 and 92.3.
