The Seward County Saints led by as many as 34 on the way to an 84-62 win over the Pratt Beavers Wednesday night in the Green House. The Saints are now 9-1 at home. They snap a three game home court losing streak against the Beavers. It’s the first time the Saints have swept the regular season series with PCC since 2021.
Seward led 17-14 with 11:05 to play in the half. The Saints claimed their biggest lead at 28-16 with 7:02 to play. The Saints led 38-18 with 3:51 remaining in the half. The Saints led 50-23 at the half. The Saints led 59-25 before a 17-0 Pratt run made it 59-42. It was 63-42 SCCC with 11:49 to play. The Saints led 71-47 with 8:19 remaining.
The Black Hills Energy Player of the Game is Antonio Williams Jr. with 20 points and five rebounds. Lucas N’Gombo scored 16 points. Bailey Milligan dropped in 13. Lyna Brooks Jr. scored 11. Korbin Dowdell added 10.
The Saints shot 45 percent from the field making 12-26 of their three pointers and 24-29 from the foul line for 83 percent. Pratt shot 46 percent but took 14 less shots than the Saints. Pratt was 5-15 from three and 21-34 from the foul line for 62 percent. Pratt committed 20 turnovers and Seward had 15. The Saints out rebounded the Beaver 32-26.
Pratt falls to 6-16 overall and 3-14 in the Jayhawk. Seward is 16-7 overall and 11-6 in the Jayhawk. Seward plays at Fort Hays Tech Sunday at 2pm central time on 1270 and 92.3 FM.
