The Seward Lady Saints came ready to play in their Region 6 Tournament opener.  Seward led 51-19 at the half and went on to beat Fort Hays Tech 84-52 Saturday afternoon in the Green House.  The Lady Saints led by as many at 36 as they win their Region 6 opening round game for a third straight year.  Avery Marchino moved into ninth all time in a single season and career scoring in Lady Saint history.  The Lady Saints finish 11-4 at home.

The Lady Saints jumped out to leads of 16-2 and 21-5.  The Lady Saints led 26-5 after one.  Seward led 32-5 and 35-7.  Seward led 48-16 and led 51-19 at the half.  Seward led 62-26.  Seward led 66-39 after three.

The Black Hills Energy Player of the Game is Kimora Fagan with 19 points and seven assists.  Avery Marchino scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds.  Tyniah Smith had 17 points and seven rebounds.

Seward shot 44 percent from the field and 42 percent from three going 10-24.  The Lady Tigers shot 31 percent going 9-33 from three.  SCCC forced FHT to 24 turnovers.

Fort Hays Tech finishes 2-29.  Seward is 20-11 and plays at Coffeyville Tuesday at 5:30 with Saints Shoot-around at 5:15 on 1270 and 92.3.
