Wind Farm A Possibility Near Garden City

Garden City commissioners who are meeting Tuesday will be discussing a $14 million community wind project, proposed at a site about six miles south of Garden City, just west of U.S. Highway 83 and directly north of Buffalo Dunes Golf Course. The three-turbine wind project could generate up to 6.3 megawatts of power and would offset energy that otherwise would be purchased from Wheatland Electric, creating a long-term cost savings to the city, officials have said.
