Weekend Rattler Round Up

19U at state in Hesston

The Rattlers won their state opener 12-9 over Wellington Friday afternoon in Hesston.  It was a sloppy game.  Liberal had three errors while Wellington had seven.  The Rattlers scored four in the first and three in the second to lead 7-0.  Wellington tied it with four in the third and three in the fourth.  Liberal took the lead back with two in the fourth and three in the sixth.  Cristian Erives was 3-5 while Kaiden Long and Jared Hasik had two hits a piece.  Long and Hasik doubled twice and Long drove home four runs.

Saturday Liberal held off Moundridge in pool play 4-3.  The Rattlers plated single runs in the first, second, fourth, and fifth while Moundridge scored all three in the seventh.  Kaiden Bigham was 2-2 with an RBI.  He pitched 6 and 1/3 innings with 11 strikeouts for the win.

Won final game in pool play Sunday 3-2 over Abilene.
