Voter Registration Deadline Approaches In Texas County

Just a reminder for those who wish to vote in the upcoming Feb. 12 Annual School Board Election that have not registered in Texas County or need to change their information must do so by this Friday, said La Fonda F. Limon, Secretary of the Texas County Election Board.
Persons that will appear on the Ballots in Texas County are as follows:
For Goodwell I-60 School Board Position number Three (3) a Five (5) year Term, the candidates are:
•Roger Edenborough
•Russell Guthrie
For Texhoma I-61 School Board Position number Three (3) a Five (5) year Term, the candidates are:
•Roger E. Powers
•Kenneth C. Allard
For Turpin I-128 School Board Position number Three (3) a Five (5) year Term, the candidates are:
•John Moses
•David Ratzlaff
And the candidates for Turpin I-128 School Board Position number Five (5) a Two (2) year Term, the candidates are:
•Timothy Thornton
•Aaron Levins
Persons who are United States citizens, residents of Oklahoma, and at least 18 years old may apply to become registered voters.
For those mailing a Registration Application form, in order to be eligible to vote in this Election, it MUST be postmarked no later than midnight Friday. Applications postmarked after that time still will be accepted and processed, but the applications will not be approved until after Feb. 12, Limon said.
Any person who has submitted a voter registration application and who has not received a response within 30 days should contact the County Election Board office.
Oklahoma Voter Registration Application forms are available at the County Election Board office located at 301 N. Main St. (Courthouse Annex) in Guymon, and at most post offices, tag agencies, and public libraries in the county. Limon said that applications also are available on the Internet at www.elections.ok.gov.
