US 56 Resurfacing Project to Begin in Gray County

The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin highway resurfacing on US 56 beginning at the East City Limits of Copeland and continuing East to the West City Limits of Ensign on Wednesday, April 19th.
US 56 will be reduced to one lane guided by a pilot car during working hours with an approximate delay of 15 minutes during the project. The project is expected to be completed in 25 working days weather permitting. KDOT urges drivers to be alert, pay attention to all work zone warning signs, slow down when approaching a work zone and be prepared to stop.
Venture Corporation of Great Bend is the primary contractor on the project with an approximate construction cost of $1.7 million.
