Construction continues on the US-54 expansion in Seward County.  With two of the four new lanes completed, the Kansas Department of Transportation, announces that traffic will shift to the newly completed east bound lanes on Thursday, May 25, 2017 while work continues on the new west bound lanes.  Road O will now be opened to the south of 54.

Construction of the west bound lanes continues on this $14.6 million project.  Michels Corporation of Brownsville, Wisconsin is the primary contractor.  The project is expected to be completed by July 2017 weather permitting.  KDOT urges drivers to be alert, pay attention to all work zone warning signs, slow down when approaching a work zone and be prepared to stop.

For more information on this project, please call Greg Adams, Construction Engineer, at 620-629-5797 or Lisa Knoll, KDOT District 6 Public Affairs Manager, at 620-765-7080.
