United Way Celebration

KSCB News - January 30, 2012 10:30 pm

The public is invited to attend the Seward County United Way’s 2012 Campaign Celebration and Annual Meeting from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, upstairs in the Student Union at the Seward County Community College Area Technical School. Refreshments, including hot and cold appetizers, will be served starting at 5 p.m. and the presentation of awards and plaques will start at 6 p.m.

“The event is open to all Seward County United Way donors and volunteers,” said Kay Burtzloff, executive director of the local United Way. “We wanted to thank them for helping us set a new record in our 50 th Anniversary Campaign. Although it started out slow, the campaign finished great.”

During the celebration, the final campaign total and the Volunteer of the Year will be announced and volunteers and donors will be recognized. At the annual meeting, new Seward County United Way Board of Director members and officers are elected. Nominations may be made from the floor. “According to our by-laws, all donors, agencies and volunteers have a right to vote on the board members,” Burtzloff said.
