The U.S. Forest Service, Cimarron National Grassland, has implemented a temporary closure that affects several popular recreation sites within the Tunner Fire area in Morton County. Wilburton Road (County Road 16), North River Road and South River Road remain open for public use. The Closure Order affects areas within the Cimarron River corridor that includes the Turkey Trail, River Trail, Race Track, Cimarron Recreation Area (which includes the campground, fishing ponds and the group site), Mallard Pond, and Wilburton Pond. This Order assures public health and safety while an assessment of hazardous conditions caused by the Tunner Fire is conducted within the restricted area.
