Two Vehicle Accident Injures Hugoton Man

A two vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon at approximately 12:15pm, sent a Hugoton man to the hospital. The accident occurred on US Highway 54 4 miles west of Meade when a 1989 Peterbilt semi-truck being driven by Joe Stand, 39, of Hugoton was heading east and crossed the centerline. The Peterbilt then struck a 1982 Kenworth semi behind driven by Salvador Rodriguez, 46, of Muleshoe Texas who was heading west.
Stand was taken to Meade District Hospital to be treated for his injuries, Rodriguez was not injured. Seat belts were in use in both vehicles.
