Total Confirmed Cases in Texas County at 906 with 763 Recovered, 5 deaths

Texas County officials confirmed 13 positive COVID-19 tests on Wednesday, May 27. The results were for 12 Guymon residents and one Hooker resident. County officials confirmed Texas County’s COVID-19 count is now at 906 total cases. Residents are asked to wear a face covering and maintain proper social distancing.

Texas County is third in the state for total confirmed cases behind Tulsa County which has a total of 958 cases with 751 of those recovered and 49 deaths, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health. OSDH is reporting Texas County at 902 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 763 recoveries, and 5 deaths. Oklahoma County has the most confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state at 1227, 1070 recoveries, and 58 deaths. Oklahoma has a total of 6229 confirmed cases and 322 deaths.

Not all agencies report data in the same 24-hour period, and officials recognize the occasional variance of numbers in reporting. For more data on confirmed COVID-19 cases visit the state’s website www.coronavirus.health.ok.gov. OSDH is not reporting hospitalizations for our county COVID-19 cases.

An investigation into any positive result is standard and all persons in close contact with the person will be notified by the Oklahoma State Department of Health and advised of quarantine and testing procedure.

All residents are encouraged to execute safety guidelines as advised by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and stay safe at home.
