Times Gets The Bid

The Liberal City Commission chose the Southwest Times

Newspaper as the city’s official newspaper. The commission voted

3-2 to make the three day a week paper the city’s official newspaper.

The Southwest Times bid was 2.25 per column inch for the three

day a week paper while the High Plains Daily Leader bid was 2.90

per column inch for the six day a week newspaper. The Times

will be the city’s official newspaper from June 1 to May 31 2011

unless the city chooses another paper during that time. The Daily

Leader is Seward County’s official newspaper. In other action, the Commission

approved the 5 year plan with KDOT, approved change orders dealind with drainage

on the Western Avenue Project, and approved the purchase of a Bobcat Excavator for

the cemetary. The next meeting of the Liberal City Commission is set for May 25.
