Monday, a woman is being sentenced for her role in the murder of two southwest Kansas mothers.
Tifany Adams pleaded no contest as part of a plea deal connected to the deaths of Veronica Butler and Jilian Kelley.
The plea does not mean Adams admits guilt, but she is held legally responsible for their deaths.
As part of the plea agreement the death penalty is off the table.
The State also agreed to dismiss conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree and two counts of child neglect.
That is notable because custody over Veronica Butler’s children is at the center of the murders.
The State is also not requiring Adams to testify in the case of any related defendant or any matter related to the events of her case.
Two of the five suspects, Cole Twombly and Tad Cullum, have not taken plea deals connected to the murders. Trial dates for both men have been set.
Court- appointed attorney fees are waived as part of the plea agreement for Adams, but she will pay all associated court costs and fees.
