KSCB News - December 30, 2010 3:41 pm

Three current city commissioners who see their term end in April have filed for commission once again. Dave Harrison, Bob Carlile, and Larry Koochel filed with Liberal city clerk Debbie Giskie this week. Harrison filed on Wednesday before Carlile and Koochel filed on Thursday. So three candidates have filed for the three vacant city commission positions. The deadline to file for the city commission is noon on Tuesday, January 25. The positions currently held by Bob Carlile, Dave Harrison, and Larry Koochel will be vacant in April. Harrison and Koochel will have served four year terms while Carlile will have served a two year term. At the April 5 general election, the top two successful candidates will receive four year terms and a third successful candidate will receive a two year term. Those interested in filing for city commission need to complete a candidate’s declaration of intention form and pay the 45 dollars filing fee with the city clerk’s office. The office is located at City Hall at 324 North Kansas. It is open from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p..m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
