Third Suspect Arrested In Hooker OK Stabbing

Victor Barrera, 18, of Hooker, Okla., has been arrested after a pending investigation regarding a stabbing in Hooker, Okla., according to documents obtained by the Texas County Court Clerk’s Office.

A Guymon couple, Joan and Rusty Peterson, were arrested in connection with the stabbing of a Hispanic male on August 13, 2010.

Police investigating this case arrested Barrera August, 25 for his involvement in the alleged stabbing after a severe altercation got out of hand on June 14, 2010 in Hooker, Okla., according to the affidavit for warrant of arrest.

Documents state officers responded to a fight in progress at around 9 p.m. to find a Hispanic male covered in blood in a driveway. The victim informed police that he was jumped by three Hispanic males and received multiple stab wounds.

A female called Barrera, according to the affidavit, to please remove the victim from her home. Barrera was reportedly near the residence and had two minors accompany him. The juveniles were instructed to stay in the alley until they heard “anything bad” happen.

During the altercation, the victim and Barrera fought one on one according to the documents. During the fight Barrera reportedly pulled out a Smith and Wesson Extreme Ops pocket knife stabbing and cutting the victim multiple times.

The report states Barrera attempted to leave the scene when the victim yelled an obscenity, he returned and attacked the victim again with the knife.

The victim reportedly plead for Barrera to stop. Once Barrera stopped, he handed the knife to a juvenile and asked them to get rid of it for him.

The victim is reportedly in stable condition according to the Hooker Police Department.

Barrera is being charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, a felony. This crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to 10 years in the penitentiary or one year in the county jail. He is being held on a bond of $100,000 bond at the Texas County Detention Center.
