Third Ranked Redskins Take Down #5 Great Bend

What a seven days for the Liberal soccer team. On Tuesday the 4th LHS beat Andover Central 3-0 in Wichita, Thursday they topped second ranked Kapaun 3-1, Saturday they won the North Cup 7-0 over the Berean Academy, Sunday they re-entered the rankings at #3, and Monday the Skins topped #5 Great Bend 3-1 on a chilly rainy night at Great Bend Memorial Stadium.

Isai Gutierrez scored two goals and added one assist while Eduardo Moreno added a goal and an assist. Alvin Portillo added an assist.

LHS goalie Ricardo Castro also had a big night with eight saves. Liberal led the shots on goal category 16-10.

The Redskins are 10-5 overall after their eighth straight win. LHS is 5-2 in the WAC with the conference finale Thursday against Dodge City at about 5:45 at Redskin Field. National Beef bought out the game and will serve hamburgers and hot dogs.
