The Butler Did It Against the Saints

KSCB News - May 10, 2013 2:55 pm

Kansas City right hander Zac Butler stymied the Seward County Saints Friday afternoon. Kansas City’s Blue Devils won the pitcher’s dual 2-1 at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in the eight team double elimination portion of the Region 6 Baseball Tournament.

Butler struck out 10 and didn’t allow a walk. The Jayhawk West champion Saints had just three hits.

The Blue Devils scored one in the fourth and the Saints tied it in the sixth. Jacob Fuller singled home Reid Thompson for the only Seward run. SC loaded the bases with one out but a double play ended the inning.

An error allowed the Blue Devils to score the go ahead run in the 7th.

Tyler Wiedenfeld (11-3) pitched the distance one earned run with three strikeouts, one walk, and three hits.

The Saints (31-28) face Fort Scott Saturday morning at 10 on Talkradio 1270 and kscbnews.net.
