Texas County Total at 308 Cases, County 4th highest in the State, Guymon 4th by City

Texas County officials have confirmed 34 more positive COVID-19 tests on Thursday, May 7. The new positive results are for 31 Guymon residents, one Hooker resident, and two Texhoma residents. Texas County Total is now at 308 Cases.

Today Guymon surpassed Norman’s 215 cases, and now ranks fourth in the state with 234 cases behind Oklahoma City’s 692, Tulsa’s 459, and Bartlesville’s 242. Of all these cases, the Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 117 recovered in Texas County. OSDH is not reporting hospitalizations for our county COVID-19 cases.

An investigation into any positive result is standard and all persons in close contact with the person will be notified by the Oklahoma State Department of Health and advised of quarantine and testing procedure. No other details in these cases were released. Residents are strongly encouraged to remain home and practice social distancing.
