Texas County Republicans Elect New Leaders

The Texas County Republican Party hosted its biennial precinct meetings and county convention Saturday, February 19 at the Hooker Municipal Offices. The party hosts precinct meetings and county conventions to promote the welfare and direct the affairs of the Republican Party in Texas County. Each voting precinct elected leadership and then voted on resolutions establishing the opinions of the precinct membership. Upon conclusion of the precinct meetings, the county convention convened to consider resolutions passed by the precincts and to elect county leadership.
More than 40 party members gathered in the Hooker City Council chambers and immediately voted to allow all members of the county party to vote in the convention. The county then proceeded with elections with results as follows: County Chairman, Martyn McMurphy; County Vice-Chairman, Suzy Landess; Secretary, Garlan Flanagan; Treasurer, Elizabeth Test-McMurphy; District Committeeman, David Elder; District Committeewoman, Leslie Kraich; State Committeeman, J. B. Test; State Committeewoman, Katie Wiggins, State Convention Committee member, Larry Wiggins.
The State Republican Convention will convene May 7 at the Clarion Meridian Hotel & Convention Center, 737 S Meridian, Oklahoma City. All Texas County Republicans are encouraged to attend.
