Sydney Epp Named Jayhawk West Player of the Week

Joe Denoyer - April 3, 2017 9:41 pm

For the second straight week, the Seward County Lady Saints have swept the Jayhawk West Conference weekly awards as Monday afternoon Sydney Epp joined Pitcher of the Week Monique Ashley as the league’s Player of the Week.

Seward freshman Sydney Epp helped the Lady Saints to a pair of wins over Garden City last week, going 3 for 6 in the doubleheader with a pair of doubles, three runs scored, and two RBI’s. In game one she accounted for half of Seward’s offense, driving home one and scoring a run for the Lady Saints. In game two she banged a pair of doubles and scored a pair of runs in an 8-5 Seward win to complete the sweep.

Epp and the Lady Saints will be back in action Wednesday afternoon at Lady Saints Field in Liberal when they host Jayhawk rival and #1 ranked Butler in conference action beginning at 2:00.
