Sumner Shines in Great Bend

KSCB News - October 3, 2012 6:44 am

At Great Bend Tuesday the LHS girls golf team wrapped up their regular season in preparation for regionals next Monday. Evan Sumner lead the way with a 45 which earned her a 3rd place finish. With her 3rd place finish it put her 6th overall in WAC competition just a single point out of 5th place for the season. Jamie Brond shot a 62, Courtney Widener fired a 65 followed by Julie Jackle’s 71 and Riley Jones. Head coach Kody Thexton says Sumner was sensational.
"Evan shot great today with 2 chip ins to help out her score; the other girls were very upset with their performance."
"We have to be prepared for Monday at Wichita for regionals. It is going to be a tough regional for us but i think we can have a good day and send some girls to state."
