Summer Culminates in Pep Rally

KSCB News - August 9, 2013 7:13 am

The rain held off just long enough. Just after the pep rally at Redskin Field, the rain began to fall in Liberal. Fall sports coaches introduced their seniors and coaches from winter and spring sports also spoke briefly to the crowd. Athletes who attended the weight room 90 percent or more this summer were recognized. The athlete finished their final Fun Run and the LHS Booster Club served watermelon to the athletes and the crowd. The LHS Cheerleaders performed in the event and organized the event. The Red Line Dancers also performed.

Practices begin on August 19 and physicals must be completed before athletes can participate in practices.

There is certainly room for optimism this fall. The cross country boys were fifth in the state last year, soccer was the state runner up, volleyball was 28-10, and football returns lots of talent which helped them average 35 a game last year.
