Structure Fire Keeps Seward County Fire Fighters Busy Overnight

Seward County Fire Rescue responded to a unknown type fire on 01-07-18 around 11:03pm. Units arrived on scene 3 miles northeast of Liberal on highway 54 to find a 30×60 commercial structure fully involved.
Seward County Fire Rescue responded with 13 personnel, 7 apparatus and was assisted by Seward County Sheriff’s office, Seward County EMS. Cause of the fire is under investigation by the Kansas State Fire Marshal Office. Units cleared the scene around 4am.
Seward County Fire also responded to a mutual aid request in Stevens County for the cotton bail fire. Around noon they sent a chief officer, 1 water tender, and a brush truck with 3 personnel.
