Southwestern Heights Announces Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Southwestern Heights wishes to announce the valedictorian and salutatorian of the graduating class of 2020.
Dan Frisby, Principal, has announced Yolanda Morales, daughter of Claudia Ruiz, as valedictorian for the graduating class of 2020. Esmeralda Duran, daughter of Gustavo Duran and Laura Gomez, was announced as salutatorian. These selections are based on the students’ cumulative grade point averages throughout high school.
Yolanda has been involved in National Honor Society, Track, FFA, Band, Pep Band, Basketball, FCCLA, and KAYs. She plans to attend Seward County Community College for two years and transfer to a university and major in Secondary Education.
Esmeralda has been involved in National Honor Society, Softball, KAYs, and FCCLA. She plans to attend Seward County Community College for two years and then transfer on to a university and major in Accounting.
Both students were also named as Kansas Honor Scholars in the fall by the University of Kansas for being in the top ten percent of their graduating class.
Southwestern Heights congratulates these students for their achievements and wishes them well in their future endeavors.
