Sheriff’s Pursuit Ends in Fatality Accident

A fatality accident occurred Saturday evening at approximately 8:42pm as a suspect was being pursued by the Seward County Sheriff’s Office.

Carlos Garcia-Alamos, 34 of Liberal, was being pursued by Seward County when his 2006 Jeep Liberty failed to navigate a right turn on County Road 13 at County Road K and entered the east ditch. The Jeep overturned once, landing on its wheels facing southwest. Driver was ejected.

Garcia-Alamos was taken to Southwest Medical Center where he died from his injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
