Sharp Family Champion Center Ribbon Cutting Monday

Joe Denoyer - February 19, 2020 1:10 pm

The Sharp Family Champions Center ribbon-cutting, originally scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 29, has been set for Monday Feb. 24 according to SCCC President, Dr. Ken Trzaska.
Trzaska stated, “Our celebration Feb. 24 will be a fitting culmination to Phase 1 of this important addition to campus.”
A ribbon cutting, in tandem with the Liberal Area Chamber of Commerce ambassadors, and public open house, will be at 10 a.m. Feb. 24, with light refreshments and a chance to see the interior of the practice facility.
One fitting bonus Trzaska noted that the vision for an indoor facility grew from Gene Sharp’s concern for baseball players, who Sharp noticed shoveling snow from Brent Gould Field in order to practice with then-coach Galen McSpadden.
