Seward’s Sharkey Named Best in the West

KSCB News - February 19, 2013 6:31 am

Seward County sophomore pitcher Brittney Sharkey won her
second Jayhawk West Pitcher of the Week award of her career and the
first of the 2013 season Monday as announced by league officials.
Sharkey threw well in two games for the Lady Saints this week, finishing
the week with a 2-0 record and a 1.40 ERA. Wednesday against Pratt,
Sharkey started and nearly went the distance, tossing 6 2/3 innings,
allowing just 2 earned runs while striking out 2 and picking up the win
against the Beavers. On Sunday at Frank Phillips she came out of the
Seward bullpen with 3 1/3 innings of no hit ball to allow the Lady
Saints to come back for the win over the Lady Plainsmen.
