Seward’s Season Ends at Cowley

Brock Kappelmann - May 13, 2022 6:36 am

The Seward baseball season concluded Thursday afternoon in Ark City after the Saints lost  15-4 loss at Cowley .  Seward led the game 4-1 before a key error and walks compiled on the Saints who finish with a program record 42 losses.

The Saints came out ready to play with one in the first and three in the second for a 4-0 lead.  Cowley scored a run in the bottom of the second.  In the bottom of the third, after SCCC failed to field a ground ball to first, the Tigers scored four runs to take a 5-4 lead.  Had the Saints made that play it would have still been 4-1 after three.   Cowley scored in every other inning with five in the fourth, two in the fifth, one in the sixth, and two in the seventh to end it.

Cowley out-hit the Saints 12-8.  Seward walked nine hitters.  Seward only committed one error and Cowley had two.

Seward finishes 14-42 and misses going to the Region 6 final event for a third straight year.  Cowley is 46-9.
